I've always loved the beach and would consider myself a 'beach person'. In fact, there's nowhere in the world I'd rather be on a hot sunny day. I have many fond memories of lounging for hours on a clean towel, book in hand, soaking up the rays of the hot sun, feeling content and peaceful. Ah... those were the days.....
There's no such thing as a clean towel at the beach anymore and peaceful... well, peaceful is probably the last word I'd chose to describe a day at the beach with two kids. Packing up is the most stressful for me. We're lucky if we get out of the house with our good moods in tact. But.... as soon as we hit the road and the beach gets closer, everything seems.... beachy keen.
Yesterday was Leo's second trip to the beach.

Leo's first PB&J sandwich! Seems to love it. |

Notice the tongue. It's out all the time now. |
Me and my little buddy. |
Daddy and Ruby back from their long, long walk. |
We've recently officially become "locals" at Anne's Acres beach and the one hour drive to get there is well worth it. There's a bit of work to be done at the cottage that Ryan's parent's purchased before we can stay over night, so day trips will be our way of life this summer. I think we're getting better at it already. Practise makes perfect and if this weather keeps up we'll be back sooner than later. Maybe I'll even get to sit down next time.
Peace.
